Software as a Fact
Software should do its job without turning the user's problem into rent.
A useful app is not a funnel with a tool attached.
It is the tool.
Our design constraint
Complete by default.
SaaF means Software as a Fact. It is a standard for deciding what belongs in a product, what may reasonably cost money, and what a software company should never manufacture merely to charge for its removal.
If a feature is necessary to complete the workflow we promise, it belongs in the product. Payment may sustain the work and the infrastructure, but it should not rescue the user from artificial friction.

Something needs attention. The right person sees it, takes responsibility, and says: “On it!”
That moment is the heart of Workdesk. The answer becomes an assignment, the assignment becomes visible work, and the work leaves a record everyone can trust.
Six commitments
A boundary around how software earns.
Prefer local capability
When work can reasonably stay on the user's device, it should not require an account, server, or company permission.
Reject fake limits
Limits should come from hardware, safety, law, storage, platform behavior, or genuine service cost - never from theater.
Collect less
No ads, behavioral profiling, or quiet appetite for personal information. If data is not needed for the function, do not ask for it.
Charge honestly
Good software deserves support. Pricing should be finite and proportional, and payment should never unlock the pieces that make a tool whole.
Tie recurring fees to recurring costs
Servers, storage, hosted sync, processing, moderation, and human support create continuing burdens. Local functionality does not.
What this means for Workdesk
Infrastructure is the bill. Participation is not.
No per-seat taxWorkdesk does not charge for every technician, manager, location, ticket, or ordinary workflow action.
Storage-based plansThe recurring price follows the shared evidence and infrastructure the workspace actually consumes.
Useful without a signalThe Android workflow queues work offline, and Desk Mode is hosted directly by the phone on the local network.
Records remain yoursOwners can export workspace data. A subscription ending must not erase the organization's operational history.
The challenge
Can software earn money without making itself worse first?
That is the harder problem: solve the pain point, ship the whole tool, charge honestly, and stand in the same arena as extraction machines.
No ads. No artificial limits. No hostage features. No workflow ransom. That is the fact.
